Helena joins the conversation this week from London, UK; and we have a very interesting conversation about climate change, renewable energy and environmental policy.
We both discuss the importance of having proper dialogue and educating the general public of the little and big ways that climate change affects us all, in our lives and communities.
I hope this episode will help you learn a bit more of how to engage people around you in conversation about the energy industry and sustainability. We all have a role to play in creating the kind of future we want to live in, and the only way we can get there is by making meaningful changes in our personal lives and communities.
Think Globally, Act Locally.

In 2013, a barrel of crude traded at an average of US$112/bbl. In early 2016, the price of oil hit an historic low of $26/bbl.
This event lead to many people losing their jobs and drastically changed the way the oil industry operates in current day.
Putra and I discuss this event, as he shares his own experiences of working in Halliburton, Indonesia when the down turn hit. Putra gives plenty of advice, encouraging patience to the young workforce and to never stop learning and constantly seek out new challenges to master yourself and improve.
The conversation also goes into energy policy in developing countries and global strides being taking to ensure a sustainable energy future for all.
You can connect with Putra here...

He Joins me to discuss the origins of the group and what their challenges and motivations are, also we talk about how renewable technologies can be used to great effects in rural communities and how operations like theirs can be replicated in more communities through a new term I picked up from him called "Leap frogging".
The aim of leap frogging is to encourage rural communities to adapt renewable technologies first instead of going through the conventional fossil fuel routes.

The ancient Greeks gave the world many things, some of the greatest generals, philosophers and even the basis for modern democracy, but among the greatest things they left us are their stories.
Welcome to the first Episode of the energy talk, here we start off with the story of Prometheus and his gift of fire to mankind. The story does a great job of showing the importance of energy and access to it, and just how much progress we gain because of effective use of energy sources.
We take the journey to review all the current sources of energy we have, from fossil fuels to renewables and everything in between.
